Job summary

Waymo is offering an internship where you will design, implement, and test software infrastructure, test runners, and tooling in C++ and Python to scale test execution on Hardware-in-the-Loop benches and simulation platforms.

You will collaborate with Systems and Test Engineers to understand requirements for test automation and release qualification, build automated pipelines, and author design documents and guides to onboard engineers to new automation capabilities.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in core computer science concepts.
• Familiarity with software testing fundamentals and methodologies (unit testing, integration testing, regression testing).
• Proficiency in software development using C++ and Python.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test platforms or embedded systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test software infrastructure, test runners, and tooling (in C++ and Python).
• Scale test execution on HIL benches and simulation platforms.
• Collaborate with Systems and Test Engineers to understand requirements and workflows for test automation, triage, and release qualification.
• Build automated pipelines and data workflows to streamline failure triaging, regression testing, and qualification reporting.
• Author technical design documents and user guides, and lead technical demos or workshops to onboard engineers to automation capabilities.
