Job summary

Waymo is seeking a Systems Engineering teammate to design metrics, test plans, and simulations for autonomous vehicle testing across platforms. The role focuses on fault protection, remote assistance, and dashboarding to monitor fleet fault rates in real-world conditions.

You will build automated pipelines in Python and SQL to update and validate test coverage for safety-critical scenarios, contributing to rapid commercialization while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with data analysis and modeling in a technical field.
• Currently enrolled in a MS program in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technology and systems engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement metrics, test plans, and simulated scenarios for testing autonomous vehicles across platforms.
• Create dashboards to monitor fault rates on public roads.
• Support V&V of Fault Protection and Remote Assistance behaviors.
• Build automated pipelines using Python and SQL to manage test coverage for safety-critical scenarios.
