The Systems Technician is crucial for maintaining the technological infrastructure that supports our educational mission. The Systems Technician (Level 2 Support) will be responsible for addressing escalated technical issues, providing in-depth troubleshooting for a wide range of hardware and software systems, and supporting the stability and performance of our district's network and enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in IT support, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure our students and staff have reliable access to the digital tools they need for success. This role serves as a key escalation point for our Level 1 support team and will tackle more complex challenges related to servers, network infrastructure, and district-wide systems. The work is performed under the supervision of the Director of Technology.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as an escalation point for Level 1 support, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, operating system, and network connectivity issues for desktops, laptops (Windows, macOS, ChromeOS), mobile devices (iOS, Android), printers, peripherals, and classroom technology.
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting of application-specific problems, including educational software, administrative systems, and productivity suites.
- Analyze and resolve issues related to network access, user accounts, permissions, and security protocols.
- Install, configure, deploy, and maintain district-owned computers, mobile devices, and related peripherals according to established standards and imaging processes.
- Manage and administer client-side aspects of enterprise systems, including endpoint management tools (e.g., SCCM, Jamf, Google Admin Console), antivirus software, and software deployment solutions.
- Assist with the maintenance and support of district servers, network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi), and related systems as directed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to faculty, staff, and students, both remotely and on-site, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical issues.
- Accurately document all support activities, including problem descriptions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions, within the district's IT ticketing system.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and user guides.
- Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and peripherals.
- Participate in IT projects, including technology rollouts, system upgrades, and migrations.
- Collaborate with other IT team members, vendors, and school staff to implement and support technology initiatives.
- Monitor system performance and identify recurring issues, recommending preventative measures or long-term solutions.
- Adhere to district IT policies, procedures, and security best practices.
- Assist in ensuring the security and integrity of district data and IT systems.
- Report and respond to security incidents as directed.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and relevant certifications.
- Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Maintain a professional and customer-service-oriented demeanor.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.
Experience
- 3+ years of technical support experience preferred. Experience with the selection, installation, configuration, management, and operation of technology infrastructure preferred. School District experience preferred.

This is an Administrative Support position. Rate: $26.75/hour. Spring-Ford Area School District offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance, as well as paid time off and paid holidays and a tuition reimbursement program. This position is part of the Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS).
