Job summary

SOC LLC is seeking System Safety Engineers for long-term contract opportunities across Tucson, AZ and Tewksbury, MA. Roles involve system and software safety analyses, hazard identification, and risk mitigation within aerospace and defense programs.

Ideal candidates will have MIL-STD-882/882E experience or familiarity with DO-178/DO-254, ARP4761, ISO 26262, and related safety standards. DOE-rated pay ranges apply, with multiple experience levels considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, STEM, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in System Safety, Software Safety, Systems Engineering, or another safety-critical engineering environment.
• Experience with MIL-STD-882/882E preferred; other safety standards beneficial.
• Familiarity with DO-178/DO-178B, DO-254, ARP4761, ISO 26262, AOP-52 or similar standards.
• Experience with hazard analysis, risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
• Strong communication, analysis, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform system and/or software safety analyses and assessments.
• Identify hazards and evaluate technical risks; develop mitigation strategies.
• Review requirements for safety considerations and support verification.
• Prepare safety documentation and present analyses to teams and customers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering groups and attend technical reviews.
• Support hazard tracking and lifecycle safety activities.
