Job summary

G2IT, LLC. seeks a Systems/Network Engineer to support NOAA's Office of Marine and Aviation Operations in Newport, Rhode Island.

Qualifications

• Experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise networks and servers.
• Knowledge of routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, NAT, segmentation, and network monitoring.
• Experience with Cisco and Fortinet equipment.
• Experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, identity management, and certificate-based authentication.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, and/or AWS.
• Experience with patching, vulnerability remediation, performance monitoring, and configuration management.
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, documentation, communication, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Newport, Rhode Island.
• Availability for after-hours maintenance, on-call, and travel.
• Ability to meet NOAA onboarding, badging, security-screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure and servers across LAN/WAN/VPN.
• Configure routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and NAT.
• Support Cisco and Fortinet technologies; monitor performance and outages.
• Maintain network diagrams, configurations, inventories, and labeling.
• Support Windows/Linux servers in physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
• Administer AD, LDAP, GPO, certificates, authentication, and access controls.
• Support tools like Ansible, BigFix, Intune, ManageEngine, Tenable, Trellix, Apache, WDS.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support and after-hours on-call coverage.
