Job Overview
Broadcast Management Group (BMG) is a leading provider of broadcast managed services. This position will lead BMG’s Media Asset Management (MAM) offering and requires experience in all MAM systems and operations aspects. This client-facing and hands-on technical position will run and operate the MAM system hosted in the BMG Cloud Control Center. The MAM Manager will also provide client demos and customer system support. The MAM Manager will collaborate with key internal teams to evolve the media asset management strategy and vision, ultimately supporting the company’s broader objectives and goals within the Managed Services division.
This role isencompasses general IT responsibilities, systems commissioning, and media management duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking, file sharing, security practices, and troubleshooting methodologies. They will play a critical role in establishing and supporting file-sharing solutions across multiple platforms in a broadcast environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT and Systems Commissioning:
- Install, configure, and commission hardware and software systems.
- Manage and monitor IT infrastructure and system installations, including commissioning, configuration, testing, and maintenance.
- Work with vendors on strategy and goals for commissioning and see projects to completion.
- Perform routine maintenance and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related technical issues.
- Media Management:
- Stand up and manage file-sharing solutions across multiple platforms.
- Ensure secure and efficient data storage, sharing, and retrieval.
- Maintain media asset organization and accessibility.
- Understanding of EVS suite workflow preferred (or the ability to learn and adapt using XT-VIAs, Xfile3, XTAccess, IP Director, etc. in a live broadcast environment)
- Schedule of upcoming/current live records per client needs.
- Networking:
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure to support system and media management needs.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Ensure network security and compliance with best practices.
- Security Practices:
- Implement and maintain strategies for backup, security, and redundancy.
- Monitor for and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies.
- Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve system, network, and media management issues.
- Conduct high-level root-cause analysis of service interruptions and establish preventive measures by collaborating with fellow employees.
- Develop and document troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
- System Administration:
- Use expert-level administration and optimization of hardware or servers to ensure a high degree of availability.
- Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components as needed.
- Leverage System Administrators for routine tasks by clearly documenting workflow, maintenance, and support procedures.
- Assist with the management and organization of Active Directory user accounts to maintain security by limiting system access based on client and vendor needs.
