Job summary

RTL Networks, Inc. is seeking a Unix/Linux Engineer to maintain and secure production and testing environments in Sunnyvale.

The role requires an Active Secret clearance, DoD 8570 IAWF/IAT II (Security+) or equivalent, and hands-on Linux/UNIX administration, disaster recovery (NetBackup/Veeam), and storage management (NetApp NAS/SAN). You will work on-site during day shifts with after-hours support when needed, drive change and asset management, mentor peers, and ensure RMF-based compliance and

Qualifications

• Advanced degree with 0 years’ experience or Bachelor's with 0–2+ years’ experience or equivalent.
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAWF criteria or IAT Level II certification at time of hire (Security+).

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the digital ecosystem across production and testing environments.
• Linux/UNIX System Administration – deploy, configure, harden, troubleshoot, and support disaster-recovery (NetBackup/Veeam).
• Storage Management – install, secure, and monitor NetApp or other NAS/SAN solutions.
• Cyber-Compliance – apply STIGs, manage patches/upgrades, perform trusted downloads, RMF-based compliance.
• Change & Asset Management – execute changes using change-management tools and keep asset inventories up to date.
• Operational Support – work onsite during day-shift business hours; provide after-hours support when critical operations demand it.
• Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing – lead technical best-practice discussions, mentor peers, and coordinate with functional teams to resolve issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

Essential responsibilities of the Unix Engineering/System Administration, but are not limited to:

Qualifications:

Advanced degree and 0 years’ experience or bachelor's degree and 0-2+ years' experience or equivalent

Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) criteria or information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at time of hire (i.e., Security+)

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

Security Clearance requirements:

Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.

Pay Rate:

The annual salary rage for this position is $95,000 -$190,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guide only.
