Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth seeks an Aeronautical Engineer Sr to lead integrity and service‑life analyses for F‑16, F‑22 and F‑35 platforms, ensuring avionics and mechanical sub‑systems meet evolving mission needs.

You will conduct vibro‑acoustic, thermal and fatigue analyses, develop independent integrity assessments, manage supplier qualification activities, and establish airworthiness requirements to help sustain fleet readiness and program success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of three years experience in avionics or mechanical subsystems qualification and service life management.
  • Experience with fatigue, environmental testing, and strength testing.
  • Knowledge of high voltage design and test criteria.
  • Knowledge of Lead-free electronics risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead integrity and service-life analyses for F-16, F-22, and F-35 platforms.
  • Conduct vibro-acoustic, thermal, and fatigue analyses to certify service-life requirements.
  • Provide analysis products and data to manage the fleet lifecycle.
  • Oversee supplier qualification and ensure program standards compliance.

You will be the Aeronautical Engineer Sr for the Aircraft Subsystem Integrity Team which is responsible for ensuring the integrity and service life of avionics and mechanical sub‑systems on advanced fighter aircraft.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Aeronautical Engineer Sr you will be responsible for leading integrity and service‑life analyses for F‑16, F‑22 and F‑35 platforms.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Conduct vibro‑acoustic, thermal, and fatigue analyses to certify that avionics and mechanical systems meet contractual service‑life requirements.
  • Provide analysis products and source data to safely and economically manage the fleet throughout its entire life cycle.
  • Develop integrity analyses independently and drive technical solutions.
  • Oversee supplier qualification efforts for sub‑systems, ensuring compliance with program standards.
  • Establish airworthiness requirements for avionics and mechanical sub‑systems.

You are an analytical and collaborative professional with experience in vibro‑acoustic, thermal, and fatigue analysis of aerospace systems. You excel at working independently, managing supplier qualification programs, and defining airworthiness requirements. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN -This position is located at a facility that requiresspecial access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secretclearance.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical or the like.

Desired Skills
  • Minimum of three years experience.
  • Experience with mechanical and avionics sub-system qualification and service life management, including:
    • Low-cycle fatigue, particularly thermal cycling and duty cycling of avionics boxes and circuit boards
    • High-cycle fatigue of mechanical and electrical components
    • Strength testing, i.e. proof, burst, shock, and acceleration testing
    • Environmental testing
  • Knowledge of high voltage design and test criteria
  • Knowledge of Lead-free electronics risk management
  • Efficient with MS Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both oral and written
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
