Job summary

Design Solutions and Integration (DSI) is seeking an on-site oil-field automation technician in Midland, TX. You will perform startup, troubleshooting, and documentation of PLC/HMI/SCADA systems across Permian Basin sites, traveling daily between Texas locations and New Mexico as needed.

Required are a degree in Instrumentation/Automation/Controls and at least four years of oil-field automation experience with PLC, HMI, and instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in Instrumentation, Automation, or Controls.
• Four years of oil-field automation experience with PLC, HMI, and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of CTB, SWD, Well pad, LACT, Compressor, Pipeline, and Storage concepts.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drug test if required.

• Onsite startup, services, troubleshooting, and documentation.

• Onsite Total Flow troubleshooting and programming.

Job description

Design Solutions and Integration (DSI) is an employee‑owned company that provides automation, electrical, and mechanical services to major energy partners such as Diamondback Energy, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, and Chevron. Since 2001, DSI has supported oil‑field operations with reliable, safety‑driven solutions.

This position is located in Midland, Texas and works in the Permian Basin oil fields. The role requires working 8 days a week (6 days on, 0 days off) at 10 hours per day with overtime as needed, and requires daily driving between and from locations in Texas and New Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Onsite startup, services, troubleshooting, and documentation

Requirements

• Four years of experience in oil‑field automation with PLC, HMI, and instrumentation
• Understanding of oil‑field automation concepts related to CTB, SWD, Well pad, LACT, Compressor, Pipeline, and Storage
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a follicle drug test if required
