Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in California is seeking an experienced test engineer to plan, implement, test, document, and maintain integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS components.

You will translate contract requirements into test plans, establish specs, review results, and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports, coordinating with multiple teams to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading and/or performing subassembly and assembly level testing.
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting at sub-assembly and assembly level.
  • Experience and knowledge of proper use of standard hand tools including Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, RF Testers, Network Analyzers and/or Function Generators.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, test, document, and maintain system test solutions for in-house and COTS/GOTS components.
  • Synthesizes customer needs into system test requirements within schedule and cost constraints.
  • Establishes specs, solves hardware/software interface issues, and ensures full system integration.
  • Reviews and derives testability requirements and develops comprehensive test plans and schedules.
  • Coordinates testing with programs and other organizations; prepares evaluation reports and regression tests.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience leading and/or performing subassembly and assembly level testing
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting at sub-assembly and assembly level
  • Experience and knowledge of proper use of standard hand tools including Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, RF Testers, Network Analyzers and/or Function Generators
Desired Skills
  • Current Lockheed Martin Certified Test Conductor (CTC) certification or equivalent
  • Working knowledge and hands‑on experience with Automation Framework tools
  • Proficiency in software languages such as Python, Perl, TML3, JSON, etc.
  • Experience integrating shipboard systems or similar complex platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver tasks on time and within budget
  • Experience implementing test best practices and leveraging lessons learned to improve processes
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with teams of diverse disciplines
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical fiels
  • Experience serving as an informal or formal team or project lead.
Pay Information

Full‑Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full‑time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
