Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Space Vehicle Electrical Test Engineer to join the Space Protection Programs. This role focuses on leading test execution, artifact development, and cross-functional coordination to ensure system integrity in a fast-paced environment.

Required are a Bachelor's in engineering, test experience, scripting ability, and active TS w/ Poly clearance. Travel may be involved, with opportunities to work on end-to-end security systems for space assets.

  • Ability to lead a team through the execution of established procedures.
  • Previous test experience.
  • Proficiency with a high-level scripting language (Python, PHP, Ruby, etc.) to support automated test scripts.
  • Active Top Secret w/ Poly clearance.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Space Vehicle Electrical Test Engineer to work within the Space Protection Programs organization. This role provides the opportunity to perform critical work, develop your individual potential, and play a crucial role in the strategic execution of the SPP area.

As a Space Vehicle Electrical Test Engineer, You Will
  • Lead Systems Integration and test execution efforts
  • Develop, and review test artifacts
  • Oversee test execution of various subsystem and system-level tests
  • Document test results and test discrepancies
  • Lead test anomaly and troubleshooting efforts
  • Moderate among the interests of multi-disciplinary groups to synthesize test plans and test procedures that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints
  • Perform to functional and technical specifications and standards
  • Aid in solutions for hardware/software interface problems
  • Ensure integration of the entire system or subsystem through test product execution
  • Coordinate subsystem and/or system testing activities with support organizations
  • Perform impromptu briefs of test status or discrepancies to customer representatives or program management
  • Work within a fast-paced production operations environment that may include 24/7 support and travel to support full lifecycle operations

Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or related experience
  • Ability to lead a team through the execution of established procedures and processes
  • Previous test experience
  • Proficiency with a high-level scripting language (Python, PHP, Ruby, etc.) to support automated test script development, debug, and execution
  • Active Top Secret w/ Poly clearance
Desired Skills
  • Experienced Test Conductor on Space Vehicle Integration and Test Programs, including: Component and System Level Functional and Environmental test
  • Experience with electrical test equipment such as bench top power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, signal generators
  • Experience in Space Vehicle Test Operations including the test development process, test execution, data analysis, and anomaly resolution
  • Excellent technical writing, planning and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to achieve consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of systems thinking skills and behaviors
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
