Rolls-Royce is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to contribute to flagship programs and solve complex challenges in a global, multidisciplinary environment.

Hybrid working supports a mix of office and remote work. The role involves collaboration across cross-functional teams, model-based engineering, and travel up to 30% to Rolls-Royce sites and other locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering (2+ years of product development experience)
  • Master’s or PhD in related engineering fields are preferred
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Experience with requirements management and safety-critical systems

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams and customers to define and verify electrical, electronics and mechatronics requirements per ARP4754A and DO-178C guidance
  • Work with cross-functional teams to uphold high standards of technical capability, quality, and teamwork
  • Provide and support engineering guidance, training, and documentation development
  • Prepare and review engineering outputs for technical documentation and quality
  • Resolve complex problems using technical experience and knowledge
  • Convey complex technical ideas clearly and concisely
  • Travel up to 20% between Rolls‑Royce sites and up to 10% other travel

Overview

Rolls‑Royce is looking for a Systems Integration Engineer to join our growing team. This position will contribute to flagship Rolls‑Royce programs and solve complex technological challenges in a global, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with other teams and customers to develop electrical, electronics and mechatronics control system requirements, design and verification work products for safety critical applications as per ARP4754A and appropriate guidance within DO-178C.
  • Work with a cross‑functional team to establish the highest standards of technical capability, quality, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Provide and support engineering and process guidance, training and create documentation.
  • Prepare and review engineering work products for technical documentation, quality, completeness.
  • Resolve complex problems through the application of acquired technical experience and knowledge.
  • Develop and communicate complex technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way.
  • Travel up to 20% between Rolls‑Royce sites and up to 10% other travel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of product development engineering experience.
  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with requirements management.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • 5+ years of product development engineering experience.
  • Experience applying agile development methods to deliver engineering work products.
  • Experience with military qualification and/or FAA certification of airborne systems.
  • Gas turbine engine, propulsion, or electrical control system experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with control system design and analysis tools.
  • Experience developing model‑based systems with digital engineering toolsets (MATLAB, Simulink and/or similar).
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, robust design tools and techniques, and the latest model‑centric development approaches.
  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw) or similar SysML modelling software.
