Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Central Region Software and E&P Engineering in Alabama seeks a Systems Engineering Manager 2 in Huntsville. This dual-role position combines technical contribution (80%) with people leadership (20%).

You will oversee 12–18 engineers, conduct performance reviews, and mentor staff while delivering software for the GMD Weapon System. The role requires an active Secret clearance, strong math/physics background, and proficiency in MATLAB/Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field (CS/CE/Physics/Math).
• 5+ years in a technical role with a BS; 3+ years with an MS.
• Experience with MATLAB and Python; strong algorithm skills.
• Active Secret clearance and in-person work ability.

Responsibilities

• Functional management of 12–18 engineers; guide performance and career development.
• Lead technical contributions in software programs; develop and review algorithms; lifecycle activities.
