Job summary

Raytheon seeks a 2027 Intern in Systems Engineering at the Aurora, CO campus, working onsite as part of the Raytheon Fellowship Program. Ideal candidates are sophomores or juniors, or seniors pursuing a master's, with eligibility for a national security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Academic or internship experience that included hands-on testing of electronic equipment
  • Exposure to troubleshooting technical issues in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby
  • Exposure to data analysis using tools such as MATLAB
  • Experience using MS Office Suite tools

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing development, integration, test and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of hardware and software platforms.
  • Integrate a wide variety of applications from various sources, integrate and ensure they meet performance standards for stability and utilization
  • Develop software as necessary to integrate between components, perform new capabilities, to facilitate testing, etc.
  • Adhere to accepted standards for development, including writing unit tests which provide a high percentage of code overage, participating in code peer reviews, conducting design reviews, and generating test plans to ensure maximum stability and quality of code
  • Help analyze and define how the system works by creating use cases
  • Support decomposition of requirements and system interfaces and help determine how requirements will be validated and verified by the test team
  • Provide engineering support for the execution of a portion of the programs test program including test processes and baseline definition and test architecture design
  • Support regression testing across deliverable releases to the program baseline
  • Support and attend technical reviews and technical interchanges in support of the program
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance after the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

What You Will Do:

We have an exciting opportunity for a 2027 Intern in Systems Engineering, supporting one of our premier programs on the Aurora, CO Campus for Raytheon.

The Systems Engineering Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, integration and test, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).

Bring your talent and skills to Raytheon Software Engineering team! The selected candidate will intern with Raytheon during summer 2027 as part of the Raytheon Fellowship Program.

About the Raytheon Fellowship Program:

This position is for an onsite role in Aurora, CO.

Seeking students in their sophomore or junior year or seniors if pursuing a master's.

Upon program acceptance, participants will be submitted for a national security clearance.

Participants may be eligible to receive a $10,000 signing bonus, and an additional $10,000 signing bonus upon converting to full-time employee status post-graduation (payable within 60 days of employment and subject to all applicable withholdings).

Participants will sign an offer agreement, committing to remain with Raytheon for a minimum of two years after becoming a full-time employee.
