Job summary

RTX Raytheon Technologies Aurora location is seeking a Software Platform Intern to join our Raytheon Fellowship Program for Summer 2027. The role supports development, deployment, and maintenance of state-of-the-art systems for unique national defense missions.

Selected candidates will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and gain experience across cloud, CI/CD, and DevOps tools while pursuing U.S. security clearance as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience applying basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience with cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Support infrastructure and DevOps build and automation activities using programming and scripting skills (Ruby, Python, Go, PowerShell, and Java).
• Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of operations concepts, requirements, and systems engineering artifacts.
• Integrate multiple software and hardware subsystems to ensure seamless functionality.
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines to streamline development processes.
• Apply engineering principles, theories, and concepts to solve routine technical problems.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment to achieve project goals.

Bring your talent and skills to Raytheon Software Engineering team! The selected candidate will intern with Raytheon during summer 2027 as part of the Raytheon Fellowship Program.

About the Raytheon Fellowship Program:

• Seeking students in their sophomore or junior year or seniors if pursuing a master's.
• Upon program acceptance, participants will be submitted for a national security clearance.
• Participants may be eligible to receive a $10,000 signing bonus, and an additional $10,000 signing bonus upon converting to full-time employee status post-graduation (payable within 60 days of employment and subject to all applicable withholdings).
• Participants will sign an offer agreement, committing to remain with Raytheon for a minimum of two years after becoming a full-time employee.

These systems will collect, process, and disseminate intelligence and other data about specific areas/targets of interest in support of our national defense.

• Exposure to software and hardware subsystem integration.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
