Job summary

RTX offers opportunities in aerospace systems engineering through internships, co-ops, and full-time roles. You will learn by supporting TVA system activities, verification tasks, and data submittal processing in a collaborative IPT environment.

You will gain hands-on experience with requirements decomposition, tracing, and verification techniques, while exposure to qualification planning and documentation practices across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
  • Minimum of 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
  • Foundational understanding of systems engineering principles such as requirements flow, quality control, validation, and verification.

  • Support systems engineering activities for a Thrust Vector Actuation (TVA) system.
  • Assist with requirements verification including test method definition, traceability, and evidence collection.
  • Develop and maintain compliance matrices aligned to system requirements and contract deliverables.
  • Support creation and processing of data item submittals (DIDs), reviewing content for accuracy, completeness, and alignment to program standards.
  • Contribute to validation and verification documentation, including test plans, procedures, and verification reports.
  • Collaborate closely with a cross-functional integrated project team (IPT).
  • Help prepare for qualification testing by coordinating requirement reviews, configuration tracking, and verification artifacts.

What You Will Do

Relocation Eligibility

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

This role is a U.S.-based role. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
