Job summary

RTX invites students to explore aerospace and defense through an internship, co-op, or full-time role. As a Systems Engineering Co-op in Cedar Rapids, you will work across engineering disciplines on an avionics product from requirements to qualification, learning how teams translate challenges into executable plans.

The program offers hands-on testing, requirements development, and exposure to verification, with guidance from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in a technical discipline and enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Foundational engineering problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine system and product requirements with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Help define verification methods, test cases, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Integrate hardware and software and perform hands-on testing in an avionics laboratory.
• Investigate problems that cross systems, hardware, software, firmware, and test boundaries.
• Participate in technical reviews and help teams evaluate design alternatives and engineering tradeoffs.
