Job summary

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY seeks an Associate, Systems Engineering to help design and optimize the firm's data infrastructure.

You will work across datacenter design, networks, storage, grid compute, OS, databases, and software languages to enable scalable, on-demand applications. The role requires a BS in CS/CE/EE and 3 years of related experience, including UNIX, Shell scripting, Python, Oracle, and SQL performance tuning, along with SDLC involvement and Windows systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• Three years of experience in a related role.
• Experience with UNIX, Shell scripting or Python.
• Experience designing and supporting database systems (DB2, Sybase ASE).
• Familiarity with SDLC including requirements, design, testing, release and support.
• SQL performance tuning and analyzing query execution plans; disaster recovery setup.
• Experience with Windows enterprise systems management (e.g., Configuration Manager).

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise across engineering domains, including datacenter design, networks, storage and grid compute.
• Contribute to design and development of the firm’s computer and data infrastructure.
• Identify internal hardware needs and implement cloud-based solutions for on-demand scaling of applications.
• Support and maintain enterprise systems and software across platforms.
