Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking an Associate, Systems Engineering in New York to design and optimize company infrastructure, including datacenter, networks, storage and cloud-native solutions. You will apply data mining and machine learning to detect issues and automate failures to improve stability and performance.

You will also support testing standards, software lifecycle activities, and disaster recovery planning while collaborating with stakeholders across applications, vendors, and internal teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and three years of experience in job offered or related role.
• Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting, Oracle, code debugging, or log analysis.
• Software development using UNIX OS, Shell scripting, or Python.
• Experience with SDLC including requirements, design, coding, testing, release and support.
• SQL performance tuning and diagnosing potential performance issues using execution plans and disaster recovery planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise across Engineering, including datacenter design, networks, storage, and software languages.
• Identify internal hardware and implement cloud-based solutions for on-demand scaling.
• Assist in automated testing processes, standards, and tools for smooth operations.
• Apply data mining and ML techniques to identify issues in infrastructure and platforms.
• Develop reports to monitor application health and support performance and risk management.
