Job summary

Calvert Systems is seeking a highly experienced System Engineer 6 to lead full technical execution for major programs. You will oversee lab infrastructure and networks supporting advanced solution testing, and serve as a key liaison to government stakeholders and senior leaders.

The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and maintaining smooth lab operations. Required are extensive SIGINT, EW, and Cyber discipline knowledge, plus a track record in leadership and system design across

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 14+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with computer machine rooms, power, space and cooling, and installing rack-mounted hardware.
  • Knowledge of SIGINT, EW, and Cyber disciplines with 20+ years of work and achievements.
  • 5+ years of leadership in SIGINT or machine room operations.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in complex SIGINT systems.
  • Ability to define requirements and allocate system functions.
  • System requirements gathering and formal reviews experience.
  • Develop CONOPs, PM plans, and interfacing standards.
  • Proficiency with MS Visio and design documentation.
  • Ability to conduct technical and non-technical assessments.

  • Direct end-to-end execution, cost, schedule, and quality for major product lines or mission critical programs.
  • Lab management: plan lab infrastructure and networks to support testing of new solutions.
  • Interface with government overseers, customers and senior executives to resolve technical conflicts.

  • Provide general support and maintain lab operations.

System Engineer 6

Location: Anne Arundel County, MD

Minimum Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI with FS Polygraph

Individual starting pay for this position is determined by factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualification and skills.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI with FS Polygraph U.S. Government Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position necessitates an active U.S. Government Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens are not eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations, and illegal drug use.

Travel: Approximate 5 % travel requirement

As a Systems Engineer 6, you will be responsible for leading the full technical execution of major programs, ensuring cost, schedule, and quality while overseeing complex lab infrastructure and networks that support advanced solution testing. It also serves as a key technical liaison to government stakeholders and senior leaders, resolving high-impact issues and influencing program direction. Additionally, the role mentors junior engineers and provides hands-on support to maintain smooth and reliable lab operations.

Who You Are and What You Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 14+ years (or Master's with 12+ years or PhD with 10+ years) of relative engineering experience required. Experience in lieu of degrees will be assessed on a case by case basis.
  • Previous knowledge of computer machine room operations, power, space and cooling, and experience installing rack mounted computer hardware and network switches.
  • Additional desired experience includes hardware experience, ground radio technician, installing new systems at OCONUS field sites, managing computer machine rooms.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end flow analysis from radio frequency through demodulation and digitization to processing systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in recognized SIGINT, EW, and Cyber disciplines, supported by a minimum of 20 years of work and achievements in these fields.
  • Skill in leading SIGINT organizations or managing computer machine room operations, with at least five (5) years of leadership experience in one of these areas.
  • Ability to perform, direct, and guide complex SIGINT systems and/or computer room functionality, with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to define requirements and allocate system functions.
  • Skill in conducting system requirements gathering, analysis, and formal reviews.
  • Knowledge and ability to develop CONOPs, Program Management Plans, and interfacing standards.
  • Ability to define system architecture and generate design documentation, including proficiency with MS Visio.
  • Ability to conduct and manage technical and non-technical assessments.
