Job summary

Moog is seeking a Systems Engineer for Test Equipment in the Space & Defense Group, based onsite in East Aurora, NY. You will design hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo, and electro-pneumatic test systems to validate Moog products, ensuring performance, cost, and schedule targets are met.

You will lead design efforts, develop system-level requirements, and coordinate verification and integration activities.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering with 3+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Onsite work in East Aurora, NY; remote candidates will not be considered.

Role Overview

As a Systems Engineer, Test Equipment in our Space & Defense Group in East Aurora you will design and develop hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo‑mechanism, and electro‑pneumatic components and systems used to test Moog products.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new test equipment, assemblies, and processes to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
  • Verify functional performance of products used on military, commercial, and space vehicles.
  • Lead the design process and provide technical leadership within Moog’s program scope.
  • Develop system‑level requirements, support decomposition to component levels, and lead verification of the test equipment.
  • Design linear/rotary test equipment systems in support of development and production hardware.
  • Work with MATLAB/Simulink to construct, understand, and exercise system models to predict system performance and manage system margins.
  • Perform hardware correlation, system integration, and verification testing.
  • Coordinate and support the assembly of test equipment.
  • Plan and conduct efforts requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Independently devise new approaches for problems encountered and coordinate the work of others.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Self‑motivation, critical thinking, and strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated strong technical written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in East Aurora, NY (remote candidates will not be considered).
  • DOORS experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree is a plus.

Salary Range

Buffalo, NY $85,000.00–$105,000.00 annually. Actual salaries vary with location, experience, and performance. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid‑time‑off policy, and many region‑specific benefits.
