Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer in the Space & Defense Group. Based in East Aurora, NY or Arvada, CO, you will design and develop hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo-mechanism, and electro-pneumatic test equipment for Moog products.

You will lead design efforts, develop system requirements, and validate interfaces while mentoring junior engineers. The role requires a BS in engineering, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Experience coaching, guiding, or providing technical leadership to other engineers (preferred).
  • Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Demonstrated strong technical written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal program teams to design specialized test equipment, systems architecture and interface definition, and requirements validation.
  • Lead the design process and provide technical leadership within Moog’s program scope.
  • Develop system-level requirements, support decomposition to components, and lead test equipment verification.
  • Design linear/rotary test equipment systems for development and production hardware.
  • Use MATLAB/Simulink to model systems and predict performance.
  • Perform hardware correlation, system integration and verification testing.
  • Coordinate and support assembly of test equipment.
  • Mentor younger engineers where appropriate.

As a Sr. Systems Engineer in our Space & Defense Group in East Aurora, NY or Arvada, CO you will be responsible for design and development of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo-mechanism, and electro-pneumatic components and systems that will be used to test the products of Moog, Inc. This position is responsible for design and development of new test equipment, assemblies, and/or processes to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals. You will contribute to the design of test equipment to verify functional performance of products used on military, commercial, and space vehicles. You will plan and conduct efforts requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard and nonstandard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will independently devise new approaches for problems encountered, and plan and coordinate the work of others.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience
  • Experience with coaching, guiding, training, or providing technical leadership to other engineers (preferred)
  • Self‑motivation, critical thinking, and strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated strong technical written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • DOORS and Cameo experience is a plus
Salary

Buffalo, NY $120,000.00–$150,000.00 Annually

Salary Range Disclaimer: The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
