Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer in Idaho Falls to define and develop complex system architectures across hardware and software platforms. Qualifications

  • 8-12+ years of progressive systems engineering experience with complex hardware/software products.
  • Expert knowledge of system architecture, requirements development, and integration practices.
  • Strong ability to generate and maintain engineering documentation (ICDs, test plans, requirements).
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional engineering efforts and resolving design issues.
  • Experience with detailed system analyses, integration testing, and V&V activities.

Job description

A Lead Systems Engineer defines and develops complex system architectures, requirements, and integration strategies across hardware and software platforms, providing expert-level technical leadership to ensure robust system performance and influence future product frameworks.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead system architecture definition, requirements development, and documentation for complex, multi-layered systems (20%).

  • Develop and maintain system specifications, interface control documents, test plans, test procedures, test reports, and related engineering documents (20%).

  • Oversee system and subsystem integration and acceptance testing, ensuring hardware and software elements meet functional and performance requirements (20%).

  • Guide system, hardware, and software design activities by analyzing requirements, resolving design weaknesses, and ensuring cross-platform compatibility (20%).

  • Perform and coordinate advanced engineering analyses supporting detailed design of components, assemblies, and system-level solutions (20%).

Representative Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; Master's preferred.

  • 8-12+ years of progressive systems engineering experience supporting complex hardware/software products.

  • Expert knowledge of system architecture, requirements development, and integration practices.

  • Strong proficiency in generating and maintaining engineering documentation, including ICDs, test plans, and requirements specifications.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering efforts and resolve multi-disciplinary design issues.

  • Experience conducting detailed system analyses, integration testing, and verification/validation activities.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.
