Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Huntsville, AL is seeking engineers to develop and manage system requirements and interfaces for the Ground Missile Defense program. You will work across engineering disciplines to analyze performance, resolve integration issues, and ensure mission objectives are met.

Candidates should have MBSE and SysML experience, a DoD Secret clearance, and the ability to travel up to 10% as needed for program support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree and 0 years of related experience.
  • Strong technical background in architecture development, functional decomposition, requirements development and allocation, and interface definition with system-modeling tools.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance required at time of application.
  • MBSE experience and SysML modeling for a DoD system.

Standard Job Description

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 0 years of related experience.
  • Strong prior experience with use of MSOSA (Cameo) and DOORS (Requirements decomposition).
  • Applicants must demonstrate a strong technical background in architecture development, functional decomposition, requirements development and allocation, and interface definition with system-modeling tools.
  • Applicants must have a strong background in MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering) and the use of SysML to describe behaviors of a complex DoD system.
  • Current GWS hardware systems engineering experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.
  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
Desired Skills
  • Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.).
  • Systems modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Glide Phase Intercept (GPI), Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS), Fire Control, C2BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, etc.).
  • Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
