Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Engineer to support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program on the HWE environmental team. You will ensure design compliance with hardware requirements through evaluation and guidance, contributing to the MDA mission.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering (or higher), 4 years of design experience with 3D CAD, and the ability to obtain a US Interim Secret security clearance. Experience with Teamcenter or SAP and ASME 2D drawings is valued.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university with 4 years of related experience, or a Master's STEM Degree with 1 year of related experience, or 0 years with a PhD.
• Candidate must be able to obtain a US Interim Secret security clearance; US citizenship required.
• 4 years of recent design experience using a 3D CAD package such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX.
• Experience drafting and reviewing 2D mechanical drawings per ASME standards.
• Prior experience with engineering PLM systems such as Teamcenter and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the HWE environmental team.
• Ensure compliance of the GWS system design with hardware requirements through evaluation, guidance, and analysis products.
• Contribute to the design and development of the GWS capability for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

The Work

The selected Engineer responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the HWE environmental team. Standard Job Description

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering and minimum from an accredited university and 4 years of related experience, or a Master's STEM Degree and 1 years of related experience, or 0 years of experience with a PhD.
• Candidate must be able to obtain a US Interim Secret security clearance, this requires US citizenship.
• 4 years of recent design experience using a 3D CAD Package such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX
• Experience drafting & reviewing 2D mechanical drawings per ASME standards
• Prior experience with engineering PLM systems such as Teamcenter and MRP system such as SAP.

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1366, MIL-STD-1472, ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000, MIL-STD-461
• Familiarity with the GMD domain and GMD Launch Support Systems hardware

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
