Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly qualified Systems Engineer to join our team at the cutting edge of aircraft training systems. You will support the change workflow for pilot training devices, including retrofit installation, hardware and software upgrades, and coordination with all stakeholders to ensure seamless integration.

The role requires strong systems engineering experience, formal engineering training, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fields.
  • Experience with F35 Mods/Retrofits/Upgrades Pilot Training Devices.
  • Experience with systems administration (Windows, Linux, file server).
  • Experience with reviewing technical documentation.
  • Active Security+ Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support technical efforts in the change workflow for pilot training devices, including retrofit installation and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Develop engineering change proposals and oversee retrofit installation of hardware and software.
  • Install, configure, and maintain systems including computers, networks, and servers.
  • Lead sustainment change through problem identification to deployment with rigorous testing.
  • Provide engineering support for troubleshooting field issues, including remote assistance.
  • Demonstrate systems engineering expertise in hardware and software retrofit installation.

The Work

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting technical efforts in the change workflow for pilot training devices, encompassing retrofit installation, and technical coordination and communication with all stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, with experience in hardware and software retrofit installation, and excellent communication skills.

As a key member of our Systems Engineering team, you will:

  • Support technical efforts in the change workflow for pilot training devices, including retrofit installation, and technical coordination and communication with all stakeholders
  • Develop engineering change proposals and oversee the retrofit installation of hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration within pilot training device networks
  • Install, configure, and maintain essential systems, including computers, networks, workstations, file servers, and network cabling
  • Drive all phases of sustainment change from problem identification through to deployment in the field, ensuring rigorous testing and integration
  • Provide exceptional engineering support for troubleshooting and resolving field issues with deployed training devices, including remote/virtual assistance to field teams
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude in systems engineering, with experience in hardware and software retrofit installation

Note: This role will require the ability to travel domestically and internationally (50% and up).

This position will require the selected candidate to have an active Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting with Lockheed Martin. U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience working with DOORS NEXT, IBM ELM, JIRA, Tableau
  • Enterprise Product Data Management (PDM)
  • Experience with TCP/IP, IP configuration, peer-to-peer networking, and IP addressing and subnets
  • Active SAPF ACCESS
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $76700.00 - $142500.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
