Job summary

Slate Auto is hiring a Systems Engineer to own and evolve Linux server infra, container platforms, and monitoring across IT/OT environments. You will build, automate, and maintain systems from datacenter VMs to the factory floor, writing Ansible playbooks and troubleshooting outages.

This hands-on role requires RHEL-family Linux admin skills, Docker container experience, and strong monitoring with Zabbix, plus AWS and networking knowledge.

Qualifications

• 3+ years administering RHEL-family Linux in production.
• Experience with Docker container workloads and image management.
• Experience writing/analyzing Ansible playbooks for infra.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring (Zabbix, Nagios, etc.).
• AWS EC2/RDS management experience.
• Strong Linux networking and storage understanding.
• Proficient Bash scripting.
• Hardware lifecycle tasks (rack, UPS, cabling).
• Strong troubleshooting and independent work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain RHEL/ Rocky Linux servers across environments.
• Build and manage container workloads using Docker; manage images and storage.
• Develop and maintain Ansible automation for provisioning and config mgmt.
• Administer Zabbix monitoring; create templates, alerts, dashboards.
• Manage virtualization platforms and storage/networking basics.
• Provision AWS resources: EC2, RDS, security groups; manage IAM basics.
• Maintain docs and SOPs for managed systems.
• Participate in capacity planning, change control, and incident response.
• Collaborate with IT/OT teams to support plant-floor needs.
