Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Lighting Systems Engineering team at the Middleton, WI headquarters. You will tackle complex challenges with ownership and collaboration, contributing to innovative lighting solutions.

Qualifications

  • Technical Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Open to all levels of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assigned project tasks under supervision of senior engineers.
  • Participates in development efforts under management guidance.
  • Implements design changes with supervision.
  • Develops test and verification procedures.
  • May assist in maintenance and floor support of existing products.
  • Attends identified training classes.
  • Works effectively as part of a team.
  • Familiarizes with tools and applications used by the department.
  • Understands department and corporate policies and plans.
  • Designs and fully tests custom products to project specs.
  • Generates bills of materials for non-standard products.
  • Informs Manufacturing of current project specifications.
  • Serves as a resource for customers and ETC employees.
  • Provides engineering support to PM, Tech Services, and Manufacturing.
  • Trains staff on proper use of ETC custom products.
  • Researches and implements solutions to engineering/production issues.
  • Assists Systems Engineer II on tasks.
  • Configures ETC and third-party equipment to meet project needs.
  • Supports R&D in new product development as required.
  • Participates in international projects.
  • Assists in managing the Application Engineering Helpdesk.
  • Provides support in workshop classes if required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Completes special projects timely.
  • Travels to job sites as required.

Representative Responsibilities:

  • Performs assigned project tasks under direct supervision of more senior-level engineers

  • Makes design modifications or improvements to development projects with supervision

  • May be involved in continuing engineering maintenance and manufacturing floor support of existing products

  • Assists Systems Engineer II on various tasks
  • Software configuration of ETC and third-party equipment to meet the needs of the project
  • Provide assistance to R&D in development of new product as required
  • Engineers international projects
  • Participates in managing the Application Engineering Helpdesk
  • Assists in Workshop classes if required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Completes special projects and assignments in a positive and timely manner
  • Travel to job sites as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical Bachelor’s Degree
  • All levels of previous job-related experience will be considered
  • Demonstrates good written/verbal skills
  • Has good grasp of grammar and sentence structure for technical writing
  • Listens/gives constructive feedback
  • Ability to follow directions and project plans
  • Demonstrates ability to solve problems of limited scope and perform root cause analysis
