Job summary

Electronic Theatre Controls seeks a Technical Projects Co-Op for the 2027 intake in Middleton, Wisconsin. This on-site, 8–9 month position begins January 2027 or May 2027, with full-time hours during the co-op term.

The role supports ETC products, maintains test spaces, and helps with training events and upgrades. Qualifications include a high school diploma with two years toward a Technology degree, a 3.0 GPA, and familiarity with lighting systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 2 years study towards a Bachelor’s degree in Technology.
• 3.0 GPA or above in core courses.
• Computer knowledge.
• Experience with lighting systems.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Experience working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support ETC and other products.
• Maintain a shared test space and associated equipment.
• Become familiar with tools and applications used by department.
• Set up test systems to simulate issues in the field.
• Test material and software to evaluate issues.
• Provide Technical support to internal customers.
• Provide technical support to ETC Summer Workshop and Technical Service training events.
• Ensures training workshops have adequate preparation.
• Ensures training attendees are educated on ETC products.
• Performs hardware and software upgrades.
• Performs specified upgrade to meet customer requirements.
• Completes follow-up documentation.
• Establishes and maintains relations with departments other than Technical Service (R&D and Manufacturing).
• Ensures ETC is projected in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

ETC is hiring a Technical Projects Co-Op for 2027! This is an 8-9 month position for students starting in January 2027 or May 2027. The expectation would be for the student to take a semester off of school and work full-time with ETC! This is an on-site position in our Middleton, WI office.

Some of the duties you may be doing:

• Support ETC and other products
• Maintain a shared test space and associated equipment
• Become familiar with tools and applications used by department
• Set up test systems to simulate issues in the field
• Test material and software to evaluate issues
• Provide Technical support to internal customers
• Provide technical support to ETC Summer Workshop and Technical Service training events
• Ensures training workshops have adequate preparation
• Ensures training attendees are educated on ETC products
• Performs hardware and software upgrades
• Performs specified upgrade to meet customer requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and 2 years study towards a Bachelor’s degree in Technology
• 3.0 GPA or above in core courses

• Knowledge of entertainment lighting systems
• Specific knowledge of ETC product line is desired
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
