Job summary

SEACORP is seeking a qualified Systems Engineer IV based in Middletown, RI. The ideal candidate will manage the creation of hybrid software and hardware products, particularly for submarine systems. A Master's degree in engineering or equivalent experience is required, along with proficiency in Non‑Propulsion Electronic Systems and relevant experiences such as BYG‑1 and Electronic Warfare.

SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Systems Engineer IV.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Job Summary

SEACORP's Platforms Business Area is seeking experienced Systems Engineers.

A Systems Engineer, also known as lead systems analyst, a network engineer who can also program, or a software engineer who can also manage networks, is an engineering professional who oversees the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final roll-out and maintenance. These products are often sophisticated systems that are stand‑alone or integrated into various naval and military systems. Systems engineers are responsible to integrate various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience working on and testing Submarine combat systems, and proficiency with Non‑Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES). Experience with BYG‑1, ARCI, Imaging, Electronic Warfare, and SWFTS is required.

Qualifications
Education

Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline. Advanced military technical training (e.g. Navy "C" School) with 15 years of Submarine NPES Systems experience can be substituted for a Master's degree.

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of experience required. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience Developing, Integrating and Testing Submarine combat systems, and proficiency with Non‑Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES). Experience with BYG‑1, ARCI, Imaging, Electronic Warfare, and SWFTS is desired.

Background and Interests

SEACORP seeks individuals with this background and are interested in developing new VIRGINIA, COLUMBIA and AUKUS platforms.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position operates in standard Office, Assembly Laboratory, and Aboard Vessel/Shipyard environments. Standard offices and laboratories: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In shipyards and aboard vessels: Significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools. Significant lifting of <40 lbs.; occasional lifting >40 lbs. Sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, lying prone, and squatting on a daily basis. Work is performed in highly variable work conditions to include seasonable variations in weather and temperature. High probability of working in confined spaces where movement is restricted. Dust, noise and constant activity associated with the movements of materials and people, and the fabrication of steel, including welding and the use of overhead cranes/hoists. Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes and hard hat required; hearing protection and safety glasses recommended.
