Job summary

Intuitive is seeking a Systems Engineer Intern to join a focused team working on fiber optic shape sensing in medical robotics. You will help address systems-level problems across mechanical, optical, and software domains and contribute to next-generation products.

The role requires current enrollment in an engineering program and full-time availability for 10–12 weeks, starting May or June. A housing allowance is provided in some locations.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in Mechanical, Biomedical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer or Industrial Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Eligible for University Hiring Program: enrolled and returning to a degree-seeking program after internship.
• Internship duration: about 10–12 weeks; full-time (~40 hours/week) starting May or June.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D engineers, documenting results and communicating with the development team.
• Contribute to feature development, requirements, and specifications for products and test stations.
• Design test fixturing to support experiments.
