Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a highly experienced Data Scientist within a Systems Engineering context in Maryland. The role emphasizes complex systems engineering, NLP and ML, data extraction from unstructured sources, and technical leadership across requirements, design, and testing.

Proficiency in Python/R with TensorFlow or PyTorch, and tools like Apache Tika and PDFMiner is expected. TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Twenty (20) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user's requirements, CONOPS, and high level architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
• Lead design and development activities.
• Provide technical leadership for integration of requirements, design, and technology.
• Develop system architecture and design documentation.
• Guide system development and implementation planning through SE plans and test plans.
• Communicate with government personnel and executives on technical considerations.
