Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD, with active TS/SCI w/Polygraph clearance. This full-time role requires deep expertise in data extraction, ML basics, and experience leading software teams.

Telework is not offered, and the role emphasizes mission-focused data processing and collaboration with government customers. Candidates should have 6+ years of development experience, strong Java/Python skills, and familiarity with data formats

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 recent years of development experience.
• Experience leading multiple software development teams.
• Ability to select the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering.
• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
• Knowledge of data enrichment/conversion methods and structured data types.

Responsibilities

• Devise strategies to extract meaning and value from structured and unstructured data.
• Leverage statistical methods and/or machine learning to discover patterns and behaviors.
• Use query and visualization tools (DataXplorer, GMAE) to present datasets in a story-like manner.
• Collaborate with customer teams to understand mission needs and requirements.
• Develop methodologies for automated data characterization and ingestion.
