Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Systems Engineer for our Mission Systems Secure Systems Department. You will design and develop secure military communication solutions and interface with multi-discipline teams to meet domestic and international customer needs.

You will gain experience in requirements, integration, and verification while collaborating with radio subject matter experts, security specialists, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 2+ years of relevant experience or an advanced related degree.
  • Active and transferrable U.S. government secret security clearance required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, architecture and design across the total system product from concept to disposal.
  • Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specs via functional analyses and requirements allocation.
  • Develop verification criteria and plans for subsystem and piece-part requirements.
  • Conduct system integration, verification, validation, cost/risk, and supportability analyses.
  • Work in a classified, controlled lab environment daily.

What YOU will do:
  • Perform analysis's, architecture and design at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Perform functional analysis's, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Provide analysis's for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and develops verification criteria and plans for the requirements
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total system solutions.
  • Perform daily task in a classified and controlled lab environment

Qualifications YOU must have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience with the systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, and verification/validation, and transition to production.
  • Experience with communicating between program stakeholders.
  • Experience with tools such as DOORS, CAMEO or similar, Software Languages such as Rust and Python
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
