Job summary

Blue Origin in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking engineers to define and decompose system requirements for the Human Landing System. You will own scoped portions of the system, drive verification plans, and contribute to safety analyses under senior guidance.

You’ll work with Jama, Windchill, and DOORS to maintain baselines, prepare verification evidence, and communicate results to the program team and customers. This role requires U.S. citizenship or eligible status and may involve relocation.

Qualifications

• BS in aerospace, systems, or related engineering; an advanced degree may substitute for part of the experience requirement.
• 2–5 years of experience in an engineering or technical role that required systems-level problem solving with some exposure to requirements, verification, or system safety.
• Demonstrated ability to own a clearly scoped requirements or verification effort with some oversight.
• Working knowledge of requirements traceability, verification methods, and interface documents (ICDs/IRDs).
• Experience with requirements/modeling tools (Jama, DOORS) and comfort in tool-driven workflows.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or properly admitted refugee/asylee.

Responsibilities

• Own requirements decomposition, allocation, and traceability for a clearly scoped area of the system with oversight from senior engineers.
• Produce verification & validation products—verification requirements, methods, procedures, and closure evidence.
• Contribute to system safety analyses (hazard analyses, FMECA/FTA) and disposition variances/deviations.
• Identify and communicate technical risks and design changes needed to close them.
• Develop technical plans for your scope and support limited project planning (schedule, dependencies, effort).
• Contribute to tool and process improvements, and help automate manual steps in the requirements and V&V workflow.
• Maintain the baseline in Jama and Windchill; keep current through engineering release cycles.
• Present your work to the broader team and, occasionally, to the program or customer.
