Overview

VTG is seeking a Systems Engineer II to provide engineering product support and logistics support to the NAVAIR PMA-207 Program Office. Specifically, provide analysis of aircraft systems and associated acquisition, engineering, and sustainment efforts within the organization in direct support of the C-130 Assistant Program Manager for Engineering (APME) and the Assistant Program Manager for Logistics (APML) within the C-130 Integrated Product Team Lead (IPT) located in Patuxent River, MD.

What will you do?
  • Provide engineering and logistics support to the PMA-207 Tactical Airlift Program Office.
  • Specifically, provide support duties as the C-130 Systems Engineer to the C-130 APME and C-130 APML.
  • Provide expert analysis on future, current, and historical engineering and associated logistics efforts for the C-130 platform in support of all Marine Corps (USMC), Navy (USN), and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers (as directed). Analyze Program Management and Product Support requirements as well as operational site requirements for USMC and USN aircraft.
  • Identify and support C-130 Fleet requirements within the production and sustainment environments to satisfy urgent operational site needs.
  • Monitor, track, and report requirement trends and anomalies, making recommendations for improvements to the business processes.
  • Perform analysis of business processes and integration efforts within all paper/electronic data sources within the C-130 community.
  • Participate in Joint meetings with various Service members/engineers/logisticians to ensure efficient data analysis for the management, update, dissemination and reporting of C-130 Program aircraft sustainment requirements.
Do you have what it takes?
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Allowable Substitution: A Master's degree in a related technical discipline may be substituted for five (5) years' experience.
  • Experience - At least five (5) – twelve (12) years of combined experience in C-130 fleet operations and aeronautical weapon systems acquisition programs. Experience in a squadron operational environment will be considered to meet part of this requirement dependent on duties performed. Familiar with a variety of acquisitions and operator concepts, practices, and procedures. At least two (2) years of defense acquisition management experience must have been obtained within the last five (5) years.
  • Work hours will be in direct support of the client; therefore, hours may be fluid at times in order to meet customer/operational requirements. Work schedule flexibility, including location/tele-commuting is possible.
  • DESIRABLE SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Highly proficient with the Microsoft Professional Office Suite including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Power Point; well-developed written and oral communication skills; ability to assess established business processes, identify/document business process problems and recommend business process improvement initiatives; strong team building skills and ability to develop and maintain a highly integrated network of team members required to successfully execute the Tactical Airlift Program Office support mission.
  • Knowledge of the following areas is highly desirable: a) Navy/Marine Corps/Air Force Operations/Maintenance/Supply Practices; b) COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 (Series), Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) Processes; c) Aviation Weapon Systems Aircraft sustainment requirements; d) C/KC-130 Mission parameters.

VTG's estimated starting pay range is $150,000-$170,000 annual salary, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
