Job summary

Amentum seeks a Systems Engineer Level 3 with an active TS/SCI with Poly to join our Hanover, MD team in a fast-paced, government-focused environment. The role provides senior leadership for requirements, architecture, interfaces, and technical traceability across training systems.

You will lead system engineering work products, conduct trade studies, review change impacts, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating hardware and software lifecycles with Infrastructure and DevOps teams.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI w/ Polygraph clearance required.
• Senior SE leadership experience for programs of similar scope.
• Experience with requirements baselines, architecture, interfaces, and traceability across lifecycle.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or equivalent required.
• Security clearance and federal contracting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead SE artifact governance for assigned systems (requirements baseline quality, architecture conventions, interface documentation standards, traceability).
• Lead cross-system dependency and interface governance ensuring interfaces are defined and reflected in artifacts.
• Conduct and document trade studies/analyses of alternatives with assumptions, constraints, risks, and options.
• Provide senior technical review of change impact analyses ensuring requirements/interfaces/verification impacts are documented.
• Ensure requirements-to-verification traceability supports QA/Test planning (not owning test execution).
• Review SE work products for completeness and mentor junior engineers.
• Coordinate hardware/software lifecycles and asset management with Infrastructure and DevOps teams; assist procurement and asset tracking.
