RTX is seeking a Systems Engineer to contribute to innovative signal processing and electronic warfare algorithms. You will assist in developing and testing RF subsystems, evaluating performance, and supporting integration, verification, and field troubleshooting with test equipment.

You will work with IPTLs and engineers to support MATLAB-based evaluations, maintain specifications, and prepare reports and briefings. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields (engineering, physics or CS).
• Experience with data analysis using MATLAB or Python; able to automate workflows.
• Experience troubleshooting electronics with common test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer).

What You Will Do:

As a Systems Engineer, you will contribute to developing innovative solutions to technical challenges in signal processing design. Your responsibilities will involve assisting in the creation or modification of electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms, as well as supporting the development and execution of test plans, simulations, and lab tests to verify system capabilities. You will help evaluate the functional performance of RF systems, including signal processing subsystems and firmware/control algorithms. Additionally, you will assist in integration, verification, and troubleshooting activities in lab and field environments, utilizing test equipment to support root cause analyses and corrective actions. You will participate in preparing performance evaluations using tools like MATLAB, maintaining engineering specifications and drawings, and compiling findings for reports and briefings. Working alongside Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs), you will collaborate on team initiatives, attend meetings, and support the implementation of process requirements. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience and grow your skills in the field of systems engineering.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Physics or Computer Science (STEM preferred).
• Experience with tools, such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB or Python, for data analysis and automation.
• Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation characteristics and analysis, and/or algorithm implementation and testing.
• Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols.
• Experience integrating software and firmware onto electronic hardware systems.
• Experience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred.
