Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Maryland is seeking a Systems Engineer I to apply foundational skills in requirements engineering, systems integration, V&V, and MBSE under supervision, contributing to lifecycle management and risk analysis.

This entry-level role supports multi-disciplinary teams on MST programs for defense and national security, with a path to grow through hands-on architecture/design development and technical monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 0-2+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
• Basic understanding of Systems modeling and simulation tools.
• Basic Understanding of multiple Engineering principles and practices.
• Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Conceptual knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in basic requirements engineering, systems integration, V&V, and MBSE tasks.
• Support system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management under supervision.
• Contribute to project tasks with foundational knowledge in architecture/design development and technical monitoring.
• Participate in lifecycle management activities.
