Job summary

Array Tech, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer I to support the Research and Technology team focused on next generation solar tracking systems.

You will assist in evaluating load resistance, stability, and performance of mechanical and structural systems, working with senior engineers to develop methods and tools. You will learn and apply engineering principles, model systems, and analyze results to improve accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 0 to 2 years of relevant experience, internship or academic project experience accepted.
  • Basic understanding of statics, dynamics, and mechanical systems.
  • Exposure to FEA or simulation tools through coursework or internships.
  • Exposure to programming or scripting, such as Python, is preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to follow structured processes and engineering procedures.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from senior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of engineering test plans for tracker systems and subsystems.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and interpretation of test results.
  • Help correlate test data with engineering models to improve accuracy.
  • Operate existing engineering tools and support updates or enhancements.
  • Assist in performing mechanical and structural analysis using FEA or similar tools.
  • Contribute to development of models using basic principles of statics and dynamics.
  • Support optimization studies under direction of senior engineers.
  • Document results, assumptions, and findings clearly.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to support product development.
