Job summary

Thea Energy, a frontier fusion company, seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to join an interdisciplinary team. You will manage requirements, integration, and interfaces for cutting-edge R&D programs in fusion energy.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in systems engineering, experience integrating large-scale industrial or first-of-a-kind projects, and strong communication skills to coordinate across mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems. This role demands autonomy and fast execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering.
• Experience integrating large industrial or first-of-a-kind R&D projects.
• Experience across mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop system and interfacing requirements, protocols, and procedures.
• Coordinate with engineering and physics teams to design systems and provide coordination.
• Convert functional requirements into scalable system architecture and execution strategy.
• Assist in management of technical, schedule, cost, and performance analysis.
• Develop protocols to inform clear and efficient decision making processes.
• Manage updates to systems and interfaces; monitor impacts on schedule, cost, performance.
• Manage system configuration control and the product breakdown structure.
• Coordinate design reviews and program management functions.
• Institute HAZOPS and FMECA programs; implement design integration processes.
• Develop verification and validation processes and lifecycle management for system designs.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams.
