Job summary

VTG Defense seeks a Systems Engineer to support and maintain application infrastructure across multiple network environments. The role emphasizes systems administration, automation, security compliance, CI/CD, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

The candidate will design, install, configure, and maintain operating systems and tools, implement CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, write scripts in Python or Bash, and collaborate with developers to ensure high availability and secure operations in a 24/7

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• 2+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or related roles.
• Experience configuring and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with automated testing tools.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience with Git/version control.
• Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Support application infrastructure across multiple network environments.
• Provide technical support to ensure security and compliance requirements.
• Implement technical standards across environments.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Administer Linux/Unix environments.
• Develop scripts to automate tasks in Python or Bash.
• Utilize Jenkins and Git to support integration, deployment, and configuration management.
• Monitor system health and improve availability and reliability.
• Implement backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery measures.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving hardware, software, applications, and network components.
• Collaborate with developers and other teams to implement technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain system documentation.
• Research emerging technologies for upgrades and new implementations.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
