Job summary

Megan Soft Inc in Dearborn, MI is seeking an Electrical Systems Integration Engineer to lead development and validation of vehicle electrical systems, modules, and wiring integration.

You will coordinate design reviews, support pre-production builds, and lead cross-functional teams to meet performance targets while adhering to regulator and internal processes.

Qualifications

  • BS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent); Master degree preferred.
  • Experience launching new vehicles and handling complex tasks under compressed timing.
  • Understanding of GPDS deliverables and Ford engineering tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of Ford Performance specific electrical content.
  • Coordinate technical design reviews to ensure system integrity in the design phase.
  • Survey engineers for components with electrical interfaces and populate device transmittals into VSEM.
  • Build DV requirements for system level electrical functions and perform validation testing.
  • Support BOM sign-offs for pre-production build events.
  • Represent the electrical team on evaluation drives.
  • Root cause and fix electrical issues on vehicles as they arise.
  • Lead development of system designs that support vehicle performance targets.

Electrical Systems Integration Engineer Launch
Skills Required:

Electrical Engineering – Proficient understanding and skilled with module electronics (Hardware and Software), vehicle architecture, module, power supply, driver assist systems and wiring integration in vehicle.

Skills Preferred:

Circuit Design, Electrical Wiring, Software Testing

  • 1. Circuit Design – Familiar and experienced in reading: Schematics / Device Transmittals
  • 2. Electrical Wiring – Experience with using Voltmeter, ringing our circuitry in vehicle or on bread board
  • 3. Software Testing – Versed in module flashes / Vector Canalyzer tool and Ford DET or equivalent of diagnostic trouble shooting
Experience Required:
  • BS Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent); Master degree preferred
  • 5+ years experience in automotive electrical systems
  • Understanding of GPDS deliverables and basic Ford engineering tools (FEDE BOM / WERS / Bill of Material / AIMS / JIRA / 5/8Ds / FEDE DVP / Engineering Sign Off / DFMEA / Six Sigma)
  • Experience launching new vehicles
  • Ability to handle complex tasks and complicated situations under compressed timing
  • Outstanding planning, organizational and project management skills with accurate follow-up to accomplish multiple objectives
  • Strong One Ford Leadership Behaviors with proven ability to drive and deliver results
  • Effective written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to build strong effective relationships with multi-functional teams (Program, Studio, Purchasing, Core Body Engineering, VE, VI, VO)
  • Passion for performance vehicles is desirable
  • Experience with CAN tools, Module Software flashing, CAN network troubleshooting, Bus Queries, CAN log and data collection, Diagnostic Engineering Tool, MyCanic, Data Logger, Vehicle configuration (VSCS)

***POSITION IS FULLLY ONSITE*** Core Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Responsible for design and development of Ford Performance specific electrical content
  • Coordinate technical design reviews between component and EDS engineers to ensure system integrity in the design phase
  • Responsible for surveying Engineers for components that have electrical interfaces and ensure those device transmittals are populated into VSEM to support EDS wiring development
  • Build DV Requirements for system level electrical functions and perform validation testing to ensure product compliance
  • Support BOM sign offs for pre-production build events
  • Represent the electrical team on evaluation drives
  • Root cause and fix electrical issues on vehicles as they arise
  • Support offsite vehicle level DV testing
  • Support breadboard activities by configuring, updating, and root causing electrical modules and systems
  • Onsight support for vehicle builds at the assembly plant, representing the Electrical team
  • Lead FSS (Full Service Suppliers) and/or other internal/external resources to deliver subject programs
  • Lead development of system designs that support vehicle performance targets
  • Assure conformance to the Ford Racing DNA all applicable Ford & regulatory requirements
  • Develop innovative solutions for performance vehicles
  • Support supplier sourcing processes and FMA activities
  • Handle deliverables to support program & engineering GPDS breakthroughs
  • FEDE BOM / WERS / Bill of Material / AIMS / JIRA / 5/8Ds / FEDE DVP / QUIP / Engineering Sign Off / QUIP / eCATs / IVS
