Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to oversee system-level engineering activities across Artemis/Orion programs. The role focuses on applying SE processes to control baselines, changes, and metrics while coordinating with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure adherence to contractual requirements.

The successful candidate will analyze design changes, participate in hardware reviews and configuration audits, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience establishing or implementing Systems Engineering processes for new programs, incl. C&DM elements such as Engineering Release, Baseline Change Control and EPDM/PLM integration.
• Government contracts or subcontract management experience, incl. CDRL.
• Proficiency with Windchill, EPDM or similar data management tools.
• Experience with change control processes and assessing impact on the product/system.
• Leadership or mentoring experience and ability to guide junior team members.
• Proficient in MS Office for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• In This Role You Will: Use systems engineering processes to manage control aspects of program execution, baseline changes and metrics.
• Analyze proposed design or requirement changes to assess impact on the product and system.
• Lead or participate as a voting member on hardware reviews and physical configuration audits.
• Coordinate modification records for management control and contract modifications.
• Establish change orders and prepare authorization; work with company and subs to document changes.
• Review change activity for configuration management compliance and report effects.
• Review and coordinate released engineering change data with Engineering, Quality, Support, Manufacturing, and data control activities.
• Provide training and guidance to Configuration & Data Management systems/tools/processes.
• Perform Configuration Status Accounting, Configuration Audits, and Verification tasks.
• Handle CDLR schedules, deliveries and verification per contract requirements.
