Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead Civil Space Systems discipline engineers onsite in Windsor Locks. The role emphasizes leadership, training, coaching, and technical oversight across Artemis/Orion, Space Launch System, ESOC, and related hardware domains.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with systems engineering processes, requirements management, modeling, and verification, plus a track record of managing teams in a matrixed environment and delivering

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in aerospace/defense systems engineering or equivalent.
• Proven supervisory experience and ability to lead diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor systems engineers across multiple platforms (e.g., Artemis/Orion, SLS, ESOC, Space Station, Thermal Systems).
• Develop and ensure use of Systems Engineering Management Plans and requirements traceability.
• Provide technical oversight, establish discipline standards, and drive best practices across programs.
• Coordinate with mission-critical products and discipline engineers to share resources and expertise.
• Support hardware development programs as needed.
