Job summary

AutoZone in Memphis, TN is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available systems supporting supply chain and retail operations.

You will work with cross‑functional teams across the full SDLC, implement CI/CD pipelines with Kubernetes, enhance API performance, and ensure security, reliability, and observability using tools like Dynatrace and OpenTelemetry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of proven experience in Java and Spring framework including Spring Boot.
• 1+ year hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry and Dynatrace.
• 1+ year experience with JMS messaging (Pub/Sub).
• Experience with Agile project methodologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes for CI/CD.
• Strong SQL query experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the systems development life cycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Ensure applications run efficiently, optimally, and reliably in cloud-based environments.
• Design, develop, support, and maintain integration solutions for high-volume data exchange.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify inefficiencies and limitations.
• Develop APIs, microservices, and middleware solutions.
• Create monitoring dashboards, metrics, and alerts using tools like Dynatrace and OpenTelemetry.
• Perform on-call support including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines leveraging Kubernetes.
• Optimize application and API performance using caching and async processing.
• Ensure security compliance for applications and infrastructure.
