Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Systems Analyst to perform system engineering and analytical work for military mission planning and related tools. You will contribute to requirements analysis, capability development, and sponsor-facing assessments.

You will prepare data-driven recommendations, present findings to sponsors, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers and analysts, to ensure mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent.
• 2+ years in systems engineering, data analysis or requirements development/analysis.
• Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Programming experience with MATLAB or Python.
• Strong written and verbal communication; critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system engineering activities and system analytical efforts for military mission planning.
• Provide thought leadership on requirements analysis and capability development for planning, battle management aid, and coordination systems.
• Participate in requirements and design reviews to ensure sponsor direction and contractor compliance.
• Provide domain know-how for military test events and operational scenarios for decision-makers.
• Develop and deliver presentations to sponsors and collaborators communicating proposed solutions.
• Author reports integrating system definitions, requirements, analysis, and recommendations.
