Job summary

Vervic Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and sustain complex Windows-based infrastructure and hybrid environments. You will manage AD, PKI, and GPOs while supporting Linux systems and containerized workloads such as Kubernetes and Docker.

The role requires 8+ years of systems engineering in secure environments, TS eligibility (SCI preferred), and DoD 8140 compliance. You will mentor junior staff and collaborate across security, architecture, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of systems engineering experience in secure/cleared environments.
• Active TS; ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Professional certification; expert level preferred.
• DoD 8140 compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage identity and access systems, certificate authorities, and PKI infrastructure.

Senior Systems Engineer Location: Washington, DC

What You’ll Do

• Design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Windows infrastructure (Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI, etc.).
• Manage identity and access systems, certificate authorities, and PKI infrastructure.
• Depending on specializations: Linux systems, containerized workloads (Kubernetes, Docker), etc.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture, security, and operational improvements.
• Lead root cause analysis for system outages or performance issues.
• Mentor less-senior engineers and technicians.

Tech Knowledge / Skills

• Deep expertise in Microsoft Core On-prem technologies (Windows Server, AD, Exchange, PKI, Group Policy).
• Experience with Linux server management, scripting/automation.
• Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) in hybrid environments.
• Security, networking, monitoring, and backup/DR integration relevant to enterprise infrastructure.

Requirements

• 8+ years systems engineering experience in secure/cleared environments.
• Active TS; must be able to obtain TS/SCI
• Professional certification required; Expert-level preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with progressive responsibilities indicative of a senior engineer.
• DoD 8140 compliance required

The likely salary range for this position is $180,000-$255,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, and contractual agreements and could fall outside of this range.
