Job summary

Cyber Advisors seeks an experienced Systems Engineer for a full-time, in-person role in the Petersburg, VA area. The position involves on-site and remote client support, with hours 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and occasional evenings or weekends.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years IT experience, strong networking knowledge, proficiency with Windows and macOS servers, VMware/Hyper-V, and familiarity with Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and Office 365 administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or commensurate work experience.
• A+ or Network+ or similar IT certification.
• 5+ years IT experience.

Responsibilities

Cyber Advisors (CA), headquartered in Maple Grove, MN, is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for a permanent onsite engagement with a client in Petersburg, VA. This is a full-time position. Working hours are Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver's license.

ROLES + RESPONSIBILIES:

This is a full-time in-person position in the Petersburg, VA, area. Working hours are Monday-Friday, 10 AM to 6:30 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends.
This role will:

• Provide primarily on-site and remote support to our clients.
• Proactively anticipate, pre-empt, diagnose, and solve hardware, network, and software problems.
• Perform regular system updates and patch management to safeguard against vulnerabilities.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of customers' specific business environment.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Require reliable transportation

TECHNICAL SKILL S:

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows and macOS) and server management
• Broad knowledge of hypervisor technologies (VMWare/Hyper-V)
• Broad knowledge of firewalls, switching, and routing
• Broad knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, and DHCP
• Broad knowledge of MS Office 365 administration
• Broad knowledge of workstation, server, and cloud backup solutions
• Experience with network security, anti-virus, and EDR/MDR solutions
