Job summary

First Federal Bank of Louisiana in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, install, and manage servers, storage, applications, and VoIP systems in our data centers. You will analyze incidents escalated from the help desk and monitoring tools, providing hands-on support for daily operations and optimization.

The role requires experience with VMware, Active Directory, SAN storage, MS SQL, MS Exchange, and MS RDS; Microsoft 365 administration is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four-year degree in Information Technology/Systems OR minimum of four years' experience in building and maintaining VMware, Microsoft Active Directory and server systems hardware and architecture.
• Must have knowledge and experience in storage area networks (SAN's), MS SQL, MS Exchange, and MS RDS.
• Microsoft 365 administration experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, installation, and management of servers, storage, applications, and VoIP phone systems in data centers.
• Analyzes and resolves problems and incidents escalated from the help desk and/or monitoring tools.
• Provides direct support in the day-to-day operations of infrastructure, applications and technical processes; duties include evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems
• Designs and deploys infrastructure, applications and enhancements/upgrades
• Monitors network performance and resolves network outages timely
• Assists Senior Systems Engineer with maintaining all Cisco routers and firewalls
• Maintains storage, servers, applications and back-ups for optimal performance
• Maintains anti-virus and security updates on all systems
• Maintains all security appliances, including Barracuda and SecureWorks
• Creates and updates documentation on system configuration, technical support procedures, and problem resolution steps
• Recommends needed updates and changes to management
• Performs daily backups of all systems and ensures safe management of media in accordance with the disaster recovery plan; ensures daily data replication to BC data center
• Engages vendors as needed to ensure systems are operating efficiently
• Assists with help desk calls, as needed
• Compliance training is assigned to all Bank personnel and completed timely

First Federal Bank of Louisiana is currently seeking a Systems Engineer in the Information Technology Department. The position is located at the Main Office in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The schedule for this position is in-person, Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM.

This is not a remote position.

Minimum Qualifications
